Our Calling

At Demorest Baptist Church, we pursue the Glory of God through worship, ministry, giving, and discipleship. We strive to connect with Jesus Christ and to each other, in order to magnify His name. At the heart of everything we do is the understanding that we must love God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind, and to treat our neighbors as we wish to be treated ourselves.

DEMOREST BAPTIST MISSION STATEMENT

We believe that God has called us to share the HOPE of the gospel to a lost and dying world, to HONOR both God and man in how we treat them, and to give a HELPING hand to those in need.

HOPE

The only hope anyone can have for eternity is set solely within the hands of God, and His son, Jesus. [Eph. 1:11, Col. 1:15-17] Therefore, our faith cannot be placed in anything else. No earthly rulers or riches can compare to the worth and magnificence of our Lord. [Ps. 40:5] May it be, that we find no other to give glory and honor and praise. Salvation can be found only through the redemptive blood of Jesus. [Acts 4:12] Hope in Jesus is foundational to the way we live by faith, in the one who sustains our faith. [2 Corinthians 12:9]

HONOR

Out of our hope in Jesus for salvation is born a lifestyle of honor and praise. This comes from abiding in the Lord daily for spiritual and physical goodness. [John 15:4-5] Our lives are to be presented as living sacrifices, [Rom. 12:1] this is our spiritual worship, that we would be in complete and humble obedience to God. In the likeness of our Savior, we understand that worldly comforts and riches are not our eternal promise. [Matt. 4] Rather, we desire to take up the burdens placed upon our lives to seek the finish line in holiness and reverence. [Lk. 9:23, Heb. 12:1-2]

HELP

As an overflow of our worship and with earnest obedience, we commit ourselves individually and as a whole to spread the Gospel of Christ in our homes, our community, and aiding in its reach to the nations. These things will be done with the knowledge and understanding of Jesus’s surpassing atonement and under His rightful authority. [Matt. 28:18-20] Our own abilities and talents are useless without the encompassing presence and power of the Holy Spirit, who is our helper and reminds us of the Gospel and of Jesus’s saving work. [John 14:26] May we do all of these things for the continuation of the Gospel of Jesus and for His glory. [1 Cor. 10:31-33, Col. 3:16-17]
